Ми завжди любили ставити собі запитання: чи реальність, у якій ми живемо, справжня, чи це лише ілюзія? Можливо, ми живемо в Матриці, або все довкола — лише глибокий фейк? А може, це просто сон, з якого ми ось-ось прокинемось і відчуємо велике полегшення. Кіно — чудовий спосіб дослідження цих тем у різний спосіб. Навіть якщо мова йде про складні теми, як-от токсична маскулінність, ми підходимо до них із великою дозою гумору.

Warsaw Film School proudly celebrates its 20th anniversary with a special showcase at Kino Susidiv and the Kyiv International Short Film Festival. To mark this milestone, we are thrilled to present five outstanding short fiction films created by our talented Ukrainian students. 

Palkó is a 10-year-old schoolboy who has moved to Budapest from Berlin and is trying to adapt to the demanding Hungarian education system. Once at a new school, he has to find friends again, endure boring lessons and disgusting lunches in the canteen, and face the cruelty of teachers. Palko feels like an outsider in this outdated system, but he is not alone. A young teacher, Juci, opposes the archaic school methods.

Filip was an ordinary factory worker until he bought an 8mm camera, which opened up the world of cinema for him. At first, he intended to make home videos in honour of the birth of his daughter, but he quickly became so carried away that the child faded into the background.

Filip plunges headlong into his new hobby, which quickly turns into a real obsession. And when the authorities offer him to film the successes of the factory, this becomes a real problem: the camera lens begins to capture a reality that not everyone wants to see.
