INTERACTIVE EDUCATION: HOW TO TEACH CHILDREN THROUGH CINEMA

This workshop provides an in-depth exploration of audiovisual education, blending theoretical concepts with practical experience.

If you are an educator working with preschool and elementary or middle school children and interested in incorporating audiovisual tools into your teaching methods, we warmly welcome you.

The workshop will be conducted in English with consecutive interpretation into Ukrainian.

Event Program

Part 1: Theoretical Introduction

We’ll start with a quick round of introductions to build a common understanding. Then, we’ll discuss the principles and advantages of incorporating audiovisual education into the overall curriculum. We’ll also showcase real-life examples of projects carried out by Krutón in this area. The principles and benefits of integrating audiovisual education into the general curriculum.

Part 2: Practical Session

After a quick coffee break, we’ll move on to the hands-on part. We'll watch two short films together and talk about how they can be used with dialogue and interactive activities. This method is a powerful and flexible tool for working with children.

Anna Puklová is coordinator and lecturer of audiovisual programmes organized by the Prague-based cultural association krutón, known for the BOO International Film Festival, independent cinema Kino Kavalírka, alternative arthouse film distribution and a wide range of audiovisual events and national an international audiovisual educational projects in Czechia and the V4 region.

Anna studied International Relation and Media Studies at the Charles University in Prague. Films and education are her lifelong interests and she works with children in different fields.
